From the epic poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow comes this dramatic nautical tale. John Macready (Willard Parker) is a disgraced sea captain who goes into the salvage business. When the town wants to build a lighthouse, John protests, thinking it will ruin his new career. But when John's brother dies at sea, John believes that his business partner, George (Edgar Buchanan), might have something to do with his death -- and many others.
