Stilted writing and acting... contribute to an air of studied inscrutability that grows tiresome even over the course of a compact 80 minutes.

3 stars out of 4 -- Familiar, even universal issues of growing up, identity, and intimacy are presented with a lyrical, dreamlike tone.

"Giants Being Lonely" may not add much to the landscape of coming-of-age dramas, yet the preciseness of its impressionism results in a striking atmosphere of hormones and vulnerability.

Product Description:
As a brilliant pitcher, Bobby (Jack Irving) is the main reason why his high school baseball team, the Giants, is experiencing immense success and popularity. Because of that, everyone in their small town considers him a hero. His less stellar teammate, Adam (Ben Irving), doesn't receive the same kind of treatment, and instead, is miserable due to being the son of the team's brutal coach (Gabe Fazio). He pines over Caroline (Lily Gavin), but she, like many others, longs for the star player. Giants Being Lonely marks the directorial debut of mixed-media artist Grear Patterson.
