Anderson is every bit as obsessed with visual composition as before, meaning every frame, virtually, is a treat for the eyes. The actors’ performances are typically offbeat and affectless, as well.

Magnificent and magical, once you check-in, you'll never want to check-out. Full Review

Hardly a moment goes by in Wes Anderson's THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL when there isn't something to make us smile -- a pretty image, a funny line, a droll sight gag, a charming set, a striking juxtaposition of color or tone.

Rating: 4/5 -- The Grand Budapest Hotel is immense fun and, as far as Anderson's oeuvre is concerned, unquestionably the rarest of fillet steak. Full Review

3.5 stars out of 4 -- A haunting and humane tale peopled with unforgettable characters, it's the work of a highly original filmmaker at the top of his game.

3.5 stars out of 4 -- It's a filigreed toy box of a movie, so delicious-looking you may want to lick the screen. It is also, in the Anderson manner, shot through with humor, heartbreak and a bruised romantic's view of the past.

[A] magnificently cockeyed entertainment....Delighting in all manner of old movie tropes, from elaborate chases to hairs-breadth escapes to Victorian plot devices...

Product Description:

Wes Anderson heads to Europe for the first time with this Indian Paintbrush production starring Saoirse Ronan, Ralph Fiennes, Bill Murray, and Jude Law. Gustav H., the famous concierge at a legendary hotel situated in the Alps during the 1930's becomes the center of a farcical whirlwind of suspicion when one of his institution's oldest and richest patrons turns up dead, and she suspiciously leaves him her most priceless work of art -- a Renaissance painting of a boy with an apple. Infuriated that she left anything of value to anyone else, the woman's greedy and nefarious heir uses all manner of underhanded and illegal tactics to pin her death on Gustav and to silence anyone who questions his objective of inheriting every penny of her estate, leaving Gustav's trusted lobby boy Zero to clear Gustav's name and prove that the grand lady's killer is none other than her own son.
