Description by OLDIES.com:
When Broadway star Georgia Drake (Kay Francis) heads for Honolulu to prepare for her latest show, her daughter Pam (Deanna Durbin) wins the lead in the same production, unaware the role was also assigned to her mother. Setting sail to Hawaii, where the teenager hopes Georgia will coach her, Pam meets John Arlen (Walter Pidgeon), a millionaire she mistakenly believes is in love with her. Upset to learn she's stolen the part from Georgia, Pam decides to give up the stage for John, a man who's twice her age and madly in love with her mom.
