Adapted from the novel by Ron Rash, director Susanne Bier's romantic period drama SERENA details the deteriorating relationship between North Carolina timber magnate George Pemberton (Bradley Cooper) and his fiercely independent, entrepreneurial-minded wife Serena (Jennifer Lawrence) following a devastating miscarriage.
