The musical history of Los Angeles can be divided into two distinct eras: "Before X" and "After X." X was one of the first U.S. punk bands, but by adding rockabilly and country elements, they became a major influence on the Americana/alt-country movement of the last 15 years, not to mention subsequent waves of punk bands.

X: Live In Los Angeles commemorates the 25th anniversary of the band's landmark debut album, Los Angeles. With this DVD, the original lineup comes together once again to celebrate this milestone with a killer 21-song set of fan favorites.

With their fast and furious guitars, snarling vocal harmonies, and politically-charged lyrics, L.A. rock band X virtually defined early-1980s West Coast punk. In November 2004, the band's original lineup--rockabilly guitarist Billy Zoom, drummer D.J. Bonebrake, and former husband-and-wife team John Doe on bass and Exene Cervenka on vocals--reunited for a hometown concert commemorating the 25th anniversary of their landmark debut album LOS ANGELES (which was produced by ex-Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek). The concert film LIVE IN LOS ANGELES captures the blistering 21-song performance in its entirety, featuring such X classics as "Your Phone's Off the Hook, But You're Not," "White Girl," "Johnny Hit and Run Pauline," "Nausea," "The Hungry Wolf," and, of course, "Los Angeles."
