Together they offer a fascinating insight into the close collaboration between conductor and players. Animated sequences portray episodes from Strauss' life. At the heart of the film is a technically and visually outstanding concert recording of Strauss' Alpine Symphony made at the Philharmonic Hall in Berlin.
