This emotional melodrama set in a boarding house in 1930s New York tells the story of a group of struggling individuals dealing with health issues, financial struggles, love and loss. A pregnant showgirl (Dorothy Tree) finds out the father (Wallace Ford) has been married, while the man's wife (Mary Carlisle) falls for a struggling poet; an elderly couple plans to move to London, despite the wife's health; and missing money causes strain throughout the house.
