An American prison activist, writer, and singer - Elaine Brown was a prominent member of the Black Panther Party, of which she is a former Minister Of Information. In 1968, Brown was commissioned by David Hilliard, the current Chairman of the Party, to record her songs, a request resulting in the landmark album presented here.
