Cine Manifest

CINE MANIFEST looks back at a 1970s Marxist film collective in San Francisco, a group made up of idealistic artists united by their desire to change the world through cinema. Three decades later, the members of the long-defunct radical outfit recall (with a mixture of nostalgia and gentle chagrin) their time together, and the lofty goals they never quite achieved. This artful documentary combines personal interviews with clips from the members' works, as well as candid home movies that capture a poignant, distant portrait of youthful optimism.
