Rating: 3/5 --
Staginess stalks the enterprise throughout, a prowling figure in an opera cape, and ends by strangling everyone with the cords of loquacity, moralism and story contrivance.

Product Description:
Doting white parents (Naomi Watts and Tim Roth) question how well they really know their picture-perfect African son Luce after his high school teacher Ms. Wilson (Octavia Spencer) raises suspicions about his behavior. Luce is the picture of an American success story, becoming valedictorian and a track star after being adopted from the war-torn country of Eritrea, but perhaps he isn't as well-adjusted as his parents expect. Directed by Julius Onah. Adapted by Onah and JC Lee from Lee's own play of the same name.
