Sofian Rouge Floating

The first eclectic and colorful productions of French-based producer Frederic Faupin, A.K.A. Sofian Rouge, appeared on Deep Touch Records in 2004. He was immediately noticed by producers like Everything But The Girl's Ben Watt (who incorporated one of Rouge's tracks on the second volume of his acclaimed "Buzzin Fly" compilation series), and Dutch Cinq Etoiles label owner Monte La Rue, who remixed one of his songs. The UK press jumped on the bandwagon as well. Faupin has consistently released a wide range of quality atmospherics since those early days and has employed other aliases such as Mr. Fuzz and Jack In Da Box, and has appeared as a member of other collectives such as Les Beaut‚s Vulgaires, Kings Of Deep and Grantorino. It is now 2016 and Faupin continues to inspire, as his new 7 track "Floating EP" under the nom de plume Sofian Rouge illustrates in grand fashion. Multi-instrumentalist, Nice-based composer Benjamin Fincher guests on the track "Starglazer," adding some nice vocal touches to the mix. Atmospheric and lush, as we've come to expect from the Sofian Rouge releases, the Floating EP adds a new chapter to an already impressive catalog.
