Entertainment Reviews:
3.5 stars out of 4 -- [T]he movie grows more and more dark. It's the skill of Ursula Meier, the director and co-writer, to bring us to those fraught passages by rational stages.
Chicago Sun-Times
In her assured big-screen feature debut, director Ursula Meier offers a provocative parable about individuals at war with development and the global economy.
Hollywood Reporter
MEIER tells the story in small, intimate domestic details that make the HOME of the title feel like a lived-in place....A 'reverse' road movie, a family melodrama, science fiction: HOME is blissfully unclassifiable. -- Grade: A-
A.V. Club
Rating: 3.5/5 --
Though the cautionary symbolism is clear here, the committee-written film (there were five scribes including Meier), smartly keeps its message quotient in check.

Seattle Times
Rating: 3/4 --
Home is the engaging, darkly funny, surreal story of what happens when people who have thrived by keeping civilization at a safe distance suddenly find themselves pushed right back into its headlights.

Product Description:
Known for her penchant for unusual fare, superlative French actress Isabelle Huppert turns in another fine performance in this surreal French drama from director Ursula Meier. Huppert co-stars with Olivier Gourmet (best known for his work with the Dardenne Brothers) as a husband and wife living with their three children in an isolated house next to an abandoned highway. When the road is suddenly reopened, the family's home life is disrupted in increasingly disturbing ways.
