Controversy and constant déjà-vus aside, the latest telling sure is gorgeous but can leave you feeling empty. Might be acceptable, if all you need is pretty sights. Full Review

4 stars out of 5 -- As spectacular and surprising as you would expect from Scott.....A truly modern, thoughtful biblical blockbuster.

Rating: 3.5/5 -- [T]he visual spectacle is reason enough to see Exodus: Gods and Kings. [Dariusz] Wolski's imagery is also fueled by the production design of Arthur Max which is beyond impressive. Full Review

Rating: C -- As a whole, Scott's version of this ancient tale feels oddly toothless -- neither religious or secular viewers will find much substance beyond the basics of the spectacle in play. Full Review

Rating: B -- It primarily seems to exist to host its excellent action sequences. Mainly, it's what most of us would expect, for better and worse. Full Review

Product Description:

Ridley Scott's Biblical epic EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS stars Christian Bale as Moses who, as the film opens, fights alongside his brother Ramses (a shaved-headed Joel Edgerton), to help defend Egypt, which is ruled by their father, Seti (John Turturro). During battle, Moses saves Ramses life, causing Ramses to fear that his brother will one day be King because it fits with a prophecy handed down by one of Seti's trusted spiritualists. Soon after Seti's death, Moses, who is actually Jewish and not Egyptian, is banished. However, he becomes the leader of the Jewish people and leads a rebellion, with the help of a wrathful God, against that Egyptians.
