Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) is devastated when his wife (Elisabeth Shue) is killed and his daughter (Camila Morrone) is brutally attacked during a home invasion, and he decides to seek revenge on their assailants when the police prove unable to help. Kersey soon transforms himself into an armed vigilante who prowls the streets of his city, dividing the public as to whether he's a force for good or merely an unhinged killer.
