Desist Film
The very specialized world director Sally Potter has created for THE PARTY is, in some ways, fascinating: It’s a matriarchal society, where the women are all brilliant, witty, and powerful, and the men ineffectual at best.
A.V. Club
A deliciously bitey satire on bourgeois pretensions, The Party is a hoot from comfortable, upper-middle-class beginning to catastrophic, bitter end.

Rating: 2.5/5 --

Houston Chronicle
In THE PARTY, an acid-laced amuse-bouche of a movie from British writer-director Sally Potter, dinner never makes it to the table but the guests still get served, early and often.
Los Angeles Times
A gathering of old friends fasten their seatbelts for a bumpy night of explosive revelations in THE PARTY.
Hollywood Reporter
Rating: 4/5 --
The Party is a pitch-black, hilarious and satirical comedy with a fantastic cast and Sally Potter's assured filmmaking. Although the film may not have the impact that it could have, The Party was great while it lasted.
