3 stars out of 4 -- [A]mbitious, including dystopian-sci-fi elements, and held together by two very strong performances from Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Lorraine Toussaint.

When all the puzzle-like pieces come together, the movie's characters, story, score and emotions soar. The pace of that progress may feel slow, but things never get too quiet. It's a movie with a racing pulse, and you can feel its heart in every frame. Full Review

Rating: C+ -- "Fast Color's" ruminative pacing is often dull, and the lack of conflict and suspense undercut the film's noble intentions and unique storytelling approach. Full Review

Mbatha-Raw’s spare, vulnerable performance ensures that the character’s personal journey captivatingly comes together.

Rating: 4/5 -- ... don't confuse Fast Color for a standard superhero tale. This isn't a story in which heroes level cities in their quest to defeat evil, but is one of unconditional love, creation, and sacrifice. Full Review

Rating: 6.5/10 -- Fast Color, a low-budget, sci-fi indie drama (...) operates within the superhero sub-genre, but without the plastic, toy-selling bombast these films have become known for. Full Review
