Rating: 2.5/4 --

Rating: 2.5/5 --
A relentless indulgence of hanky-pulling that fails its audience by never providing a real emotional respite from the film's successive troughs in mood and tone.

A well-meaning, expertly acted film, it unfortunately drowns in its own sorrow, making its commercial prospects dim.
