Director Lee Han adapts author Kim Ryeo-ryeong's best-selling novel centered on the curious relationship between a taciturn high school rebel, and the eccentric homeroom teacher who possesses news that will change his life. Wan-deuk (Yoo Ah-in) hails from a poor family with a hunchback patriarch, and does most of his talking with his fists. Dong-ju (Kim Yun-seok) is Wan-deuk's homeroom teacher, a man who doesn't mince words, and thumbs his nose at the rules. It seems like every time Dong-ju calls Wan-deuk's name, disaster is imminent. But when Dong -ju tells his troubled young student that his long lost mother, a Filipino immigrant, is desperate for a reunion with her beloved son, the teen whose natural instinct is to lash out realizes just how little he really knows about the way the world works.
