SORRY ANGEL pays homage to those who lived through the height of the epidemic.
A.V. Club
Poignantly enough, SORRY ANGEL isn’t defined by the inevitable tragedy but rather by the way characters express love throughout.
Variety
[A] superbly acted romance....What's bracing about SORRY ANGEL is that it refuses to allow the specificity of its characters -- specifically drawn and superbly played -- to be obscured or flattened by the drama of terminal illness.
Los Angeles Times
3.5 stars out of 4 -- [With] fine performances from the entire cast, especially the central ones from Deladonchamps and Lacoste, both of whom are fantastic here.
RogerEbert.com
A big part of it is Jacques, who in Deladonchamps’s hands is one of the most layered film characters....Egotistic, mercurial, erudite, recklessly affectionate, careless, vindictive, impulsive, he can turn from exasperating to heartbreaking in seconds flat.
New York Times
[A] tale of sex and death, desire and disease, love and friendship -- of one man coming into his own and another preparing to say goodbye to the world and let its wonders slip from his grasp.
Hollywood Reporter
[A] knowing and unsentimental tale of an intergenerational affair in mid-’90s France.

Product Description:
Writer-director Christophe Honoré's drama film charts the emotional intricacies that unfold when a young and idealistic college student (Vincent Lacoste) moves from Brittany to Paris to pursue an older and more cynical HIV-positive writer (Pierre Deladonchamps). Faced with the responsibilities of fatherhood and the imminent death of an ex-lover, the latter struggles to match the former's romantic optimism.
