You can feel yourself growing older in the 90 minutes it takes to watch this horrid piece of filmed dinner theater. Full Review

Picturesque if plodding indie romantic comedy about three salty dogs in 1905 Cape Cod who bring in a would-be bride to keep house. Full Review

Rating: 1.5/5 -- The Golden Boys is an object lesson in how to squander a seasoned cast, a charming premise and a breathtaking location.

It seems particularly perverse to take actors who helped develop the '60's thesping style of hang-loose, semi-improvisational immediacy and stick them in a creaky period piece glazed with arch gentility and ersatz quaintness. Full Review

Product Description:

In this gentle comedy, veteran actors David Carradine, Rip Torn, and Bruce Dern star as a trio of retired sea captains and confirmed bachelors in turn-of-the-20th-century Cape Cod. Housework is piling up at the home they share, and the men concoct a plan: send for a mail-order bride to do their cooking and cleaning. Jerry (Torn) loses a coin toss, and he dreads being the groom-to-be. But when the beautiful Martha Snow (Mariel Hemingway) arrives, one of his roommates may be tempted to renounce his single status in the name of love. Blackmail and arson add spice to this seaside-set romantic comedy, which also stars Charles Durning and John Savage.

Product Description:

A light-hearted comedy in the vein of GRUMPY OLD MEN – about three old bachelors whose lives are turned upside down when they decide that one of them should marry.
Having braved the treacherous seas most of their lives, three retired captains (David Carradine, Rip Torn and Bruce Dern) are now faced with their toughest challenge ever: living together. The three agree to advertise for a reliable, able-bodied woman to cook, care and keep the house. The Catch is: one of them will have to marry her so the other two can unk for free. But their plans quickly capsize when lovely, strong-willed Martha (Mariel Hammingway) agrees to sign on as first mate in this delightfully romantic family comedy.
