Product Description:
The seven-part documentary series THE RAF AT WAR examines the shifting roles, responsibilities, capabilities and accomplishments of the British Royal Air Force, over the course of roughly 100 years. Subtitled 1961-2008, this final volume in the series contains the final three of the seven installments plus a bonus episode, and examines the 1960s, '70s, '80s, '90s, and 2000s. First in the package is Episode 5, THE SKY'S THE LIMIT, which studies the RAF's involvement in the First and Second Gulf War, the Bosnian Air War, and Afghanistan. Next up is Episode Six, BY AIR, BY SEA, on the RAF's maritime operations such as the Nimrod and the Royal Naval Air Service - with a particularly strong emphasis on the RAF Coastal Command during the Second World War, and anti-sub operations during the Cold War. Finally, Episode Seven, SUPPLIES FROM THE SKIES, discusses the RAF's transport duties during the 1920s and '30s. The bonus episode in this package, HARRIER AIR-TO-AIR SEQUENCE, features extended footage of a No. 3 Squadron Harrier in mid-flight.
