Rating: 3.5/4 -- How I Live Now centres on what happens to a group of young people when civilization begins to crumble. But it's also a poignant love story, a compelling, against-all-odds one at that. Full Review

Rating: 1/4 -- "How I Live Now" makes World War III seem boring, which would hardly seem possible. Full Review

How I Live Now is a drastically different sort of film, though Ronan's performance is one of her best yet. Full Review

3 stars out of 4 -- Set in England, the dystopic BRAZIL and 28 DAYS LATER both ended with pastoral idylls for adult couples. HOW I LIVE NOW offers adolescents a lovely vision of holistic healing in the same countryside.

Rating: 3/5 -- Largely covers the same territory occupied by Tomorrow, When the War Began, but with more intelligence, restraint and better production values. Full Review

Rating: 2/4 -- Although ambitious with its take on young love within the possible confines of a grueling Armageddon, dullards Daisy and Eddie opt for a hormonal hayride in the English countryside. Full Review

Product Description:

A New York teen visiting relatives in the English countryside must fight for survival after the entire world is plunged into war in this drama directed by Kevin Macdonald, and based on the apocalyptic novel by Meg Rosoff. Fifteen-year-old Daisy (Saoirse Ronan) has recently arrived in the United Kingdom to spend the summer with her cousins when her heart flutters at the sight of her handsome cousin Eddie (George MacKay). Just as the pair have begin to form an intense connection, however, the bombs begin to rain down on London, and an occupying military force seizes power. Now, with Eddie nowhere to be found, Daisy must protect his younger siblings Isaac (Tom Holland) and Piper (Harley Bird) while attempting to navigate a frightening new world where survival is a day-to-day struggle. Later, when the trio is separated, the uncertainty of not knowing Eddie's fate begins to take a heavy toll on the psyche of the frightened, misplaced Daisy.
