Description by OLDIES.com:

After striking out with his big dreams of quick cash in the oil fields of Central America, Joe Beck finally strikes gold in the form of an unexpected $200,000 inheritance. All he has to do is sail to the States to collect his windfall, but there are others on the fog-shrouded steamer who have their own plans for Joe - to kill him, assume his identity, and steal his money. While he plays a dangerous cat-and-mouse game with his enemies, the crooked captain of the ship runs the vessel aground on a deadly reef in an insurance scam. Joe is beginning to suspect that he will never see his money, and instead may have to choose - between death by stabbing, shooting, or drowning.

This Pine-Thomas film-noir features a script full of surprising plot twists, as well as an eccentric performance by veteran character actor Charles Arnt as the scheming Daniel Bergstrom. Leading man Robert Lowery appeared in over 125 films topped off by a second life on the small screen, notably as Big Tom Champion in the popular "Circus Boy" series (1956) with Mickey Braddock (Mickey Dolenz in his pre-Monkee days). Prolific director William Berke wrote, produced and helmed scores of action-adventure, cowboy, and jungle pictures from the 20s to the 50s.
