Description by OLDIES.com:
Cold hearted killer Bill Larson hatches a plot that even his vicious criminal underlings find sobering. Local barfly Moose Walters has just been given custody of his niece Nola Day, and been made executor of his brother-in-law's estate. Knowing a good opportunity when he sees one, Larson shoots him down and assumes his identity. Larson must have Nola killed to gain possession of her inheritance. His first attempt is thwarted by Jack Lane (Jack Randall) and his partner Fuzzy, a pair of noble drifters. Jack fails in convincing Nola that her long lost uncle is not to be trusted. Undaunted, Jack and Fuzzy make it their business to protect Nola. When Larson makes a final all-out effort to steal the girl's birthright, Jack is forced to rely on an unlikely ally to help save her.
Jack Randall never quite found the same success that his brother, Robert Livingston, did as a member of the Three Mesquiteers. Playing a string of Western heroes early in his career, Gunsmoke Trail teams him with Al "Fuzzy" St. John, who would later play sidekick to Randall's brother in the Long Rider series.
