Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 2/5 --
There is absolutely no reason the characters in Sing are animals...the plot would function if they didn't have tails and scales, and the film doesn't even bother to whip up much in the way of animal-based comedy.

One thing we've learned about Illumination this year is that they can make really great animated films that doesn't have one minion in it.

A modest family feature that offers more than empty flash.

Little White Lies

It's cheery, toe tapping fare that kids are bound to enjoy and that has enough nostalgia and in-jokes to keep the adults happy enough too.

Independent (UK)
4 stars out of 5 -- [T]here are just enough unexpected quirks in the storytelling (let’s just say the singing contest doesn’t become the X Factor facsimile you might expect) and enough infectious fun to make it stand out.
Empire
Sing might be passable in a lesser year of animation but the fundamental flaws in the film kneecap it from the beginning.

Bleeding Cool
Mr. McConaughey’s characterization of the eager koala is full of ingratiating pep.

Product Description:
When a koala impresario (voiced by Matthew McConaughey) is in danger of losing his grand theater after one flop too many, he hatches a plan to stage a gala singing competition to save the day. But when a typo inflates the grand prize to 100,000 dollars, the contest attracts the attention of a number of singing animals, including a harried pig mom (Reese Witherspoon), a teenage gorilla (Taron Egerton), a shy elephant (Tori Kelly), and a punk porcupine (Scarlett Johansson). Seth MacFarlane, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Hudson, and Nick Offerman also lend their voices to this animated musical comedy.
