It makes a rare departure from the ordinary run of horror films and emerges as an oddly touching study of the working of a sensitive child's mind.

Made as sequel to the profitable Cat People, this is highly disappointing because it fails to measure up as a horrific opus.

One of those movies that coheres more interestingly because of its own odd heterogeneities, largely because the brio and friskiness of the filmmaking remain fairly constant over the short 70 minutes, even as the idioms keep moving around.

Description by OLDIES.com:
Does six-year-old Amy Reed (Ann Carter) suffer from the same mysterious delusions that her mother had – delusions that she can transform into a cat? Her father (Kent Smith) does everything in his power to protect Amy from the strange "curse" but sees her slipping deeper and deeper into her self-made world of fantasy. Then the fantasies turn into something terrifying when little Amy conjures up a beautiful imaginary friend – her long-dead mother (Simone Simon). Is the mother truly imaginary, or is she real? And if she's real, why has she returned to her daughter's world?
