TOMATOMETER
Constructed as a love letter to a New Yorker-like magazine, director Wes Anderson’s wry, shining nugget of a film has some memorably funny and clever set pieces and a bevy of fine performances.
Chicago Sun-Times
Bursting at the seams with hand-crafted visual delights and eccentric performances from a stacked ensemble entirely attuned to the writer-director’s signature wavelength, this is the film equivalent of a short story collection.
Hollywood Reporter
Every shot here is an event, a peerless punchline, a work of art, or all three.
A.V. Club
4 stars out of 4 -- [I]t's very fun to watch. It's a fast-paced delirious movie about a very slow unchanging world.
RogerEbert.com
Anderson expresses a fan’s zeal and a collector’s greed for both canonical works and weird odds and ends, a love for old modernisms that is undogmatic and unsentimental.
New York Times
The movie’s packed with inside jokes for audiences hip to the arts and culture scene of 1950s and ’60s New York and Paris.
Variety
The movie is undeniably clever and intoxicating to look at, and his actors seem to thrill at the chance to chase the chemtrails of his wildly esoteric storylines.

Product Description:
The French Dispatch is an American magazine being published in the French City of Ennui-sur-Blasé. When its editor-in-chief, Arthur Howitzer Jr. (Bill Murray), dies, the staff decides to publish one last edition, highlighting the best stories to come out of the magazine over its 10-year run. These stories involve Moses Rosenthaler (Benicio del Toro), an artist jailed for double homicide; a kidnapping solved by Lieutenant Nescafier (Stephen Park), a chef and police officer; and student riots. Written and directed by Wes Anderson.
