Acclaimed Argentine director Lucrecia Martel fourth feature film is based on the late Antonio di Benedetto's 1956 novel of the same name. Daniel Giménez Cacho stars as the titular Don Diego de Zama, a minor Spanish officer based in a remote colonial outpost in 18th century Paraguay. While waiting for a more prestigious reassignment that never arrives, Zama experiences financial, sexual, and existential turmoil.
