Granted, the Tolstoy story had the benefit of internal monologues that clarified motivations and impulses. But a good film finds ways of doing this through gesture, expression and other artful ways. This is not a good film. Full Review

Bernard Rose's fourth ultra-low-budget Tolstoy adaptation suffers from a slack narrative and abysmal dialogue. Full Review

Rating: 2/5 -- John Huston's shadow looms over the entire film, and as shadows go, it is long and very hard to get out from under. Full Review

Rating: 0/4 -- The embarrassingly low production value of Bernard Rose's 2 Jacks works symbiotically with the film's botched performances. Full Review

Rating: 3/5 -- Playing these self-infatuated flimflammers, Danny and Jack Huston obviously know the drill. It's in their blood. Full Review

Rating: 3/5 -- Like the earlier Huston/Tolstoy projects, Two Jacks is cheap-looking and rough around the edges, but there's a confidence about all these films too. Full Review

Product Description:

The glamour of old Hollywood meets the glitz of contemporary Tinseltown in writer/director Bernard Rose's adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's short story TWO HUSSARS. It seemed like a lifetime ago when celebrated movie director Jack Hussar (Danny Huston) swept the gorgeous Diana (Sienna Miller) off her feet during a whirlwind trip to Hollywood to raise financing for his latest film. From the wild industry parties to the tense poker game at sunrise, that night was the stuff of legends. Years later, Jack Hussar Jr. (Jack Huston) shows up in Hollywood eager to bankroll his feature debut. As the present begins to echo the past, an aging Diana (Jacqueline Bisset) watches sentimentally while Jack Jr. sweeps her daughter off her feet with the same charisma as his legendary father. Before this night is over, a whole new chapter in Hollywood history will be written.
