Samhain - Live 1984 at the Stardust Ballroom

Formed by Glenn Danzig after the dissolution of his first band, the macabre and menacing Misfits, Samhain was a melding of metal, punk, and goth music that was starker and darker than anything that had come before. The show captured here was filmed by Al Flipside at Hollywood's infamous and now defunct Stardust Ballroom, where the band played their first L.A. show in 1983. Uncut, unedited, and shot with a handheld video camera, the film makes palpable the utter insanity of the event, allowing audiences to get a taste of what it was like to be in the audience at this seminal show. The songs include "Macabre," "The Hungry End," "I am Misery," and "Moribund."
