As widely seen on PBS, this special pays homage to composer Marvin Hamlisch (b. 1944), with an all new concert featuring many pop acts from the 1970s such as Three Dog Night, B.J. Thomas, Debby Boone, Guy and Ralna, Peaches and Herb, Jonathan Edwards, Gloria Gaynor and Ray Stevens. Hamlisch himself also appears. The event was filmed at Lindenwood University's J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts in St. Charles, Missouri.
