Blind Melon wasn't nearly as good a band as Nirvana- "No Rain" was their lone hit- but their home-movies doc is much better than Kurt Cobain's (Living Life Fearless)

Regardless of the band's musical legacy, the film finds a bittersweet emotional rhythm amid its uneven structure.

All I Can Say is a unique documentary that offers an unfiltered view of a young man from a small town making it to the big league before falling.

Rating: 2.5/4 --
The film refuses to shy away from the unvarnished honesty of the Blind Melon frontman during his brief moment of fame.

The movie will be most profitably consumed by fans - people who believe Hoon earned the tribute. While one does not want to be cruel, one is obliged to be frank.

Product Description:
A documentary following the found-footage style of narrative presentation, this film is primarily a video journal of Shannon Hoon, vocalist of the ‘90s band Blind Melon. Scenes present Hoon as he filmed himself doing mundane things in his personal life or getting involved in activities with his famous band, such as jamming rehearsals and shooting the music video for their big hit, "No Rain." The footage starts from 1990 up until 1995 when Hoon accidentally dies from a drug overdose. Hoon is given directorial credits alongside Danny Clinch, Taryn Gould, and Colleen Hennessy.
