Rating: 2/5 -- When the ghost story moments are in the forefront, the film does manage a strong and creepy sense of foreboding.

Irish playwright Conor McPherson's agreeably melancholy, spooky and romantic 'The Eclipse' -- his third film as writer-director -- gets the most out of assorted hauntings.

Product Description:

Ciarán Hinds (THERE WILL BE BLOOD) stars in this chilling drama that earned him the Best Actor prize at the Tribeca Film Festival. The Belfast-born actor plays a widower who experiences disturbing nightmares. An encounter with two authors (played by Aidan Quinn and Iben Hjejle) brings them all closer to a haunting reality that should be confined to horror novels.
