Product Description:

This episode from The History Channel series chronicles the developments in aerial warfare that took place in Vietnam by examining the strategies, planes, and battles of that conflict. During the Vietnam War, the helicopter was transformed into a genuine aircraft of war, and the B-52 bomber and F-4 Phantom were first utilized by the U.S. Highlights include extensive combat footage featuring high-altitude dogfights with Soviet-built MiG fighter jets, as well as a damaged plane limping back to base and the deadly B-52 carpet-bombing raids that killed thousands and destroyed vast swaths of the Vietnamese countryside. Also included are interviews with American pilot veterans and a look at the planes they flew.
