Entertainment Reviews:
Romberg's well-worn songs are still quite listenable, but the story's mixture of corn and sand is getting fairly hard to swallow.

Description by OLDIES.com:
Kathryn Grayson and Gordon MacRae capture the romance and splendor of one of the world's great operettas in this ravishing Technicolor treat. The 1926 Sigmund Romberg/Oscar Hammerstein musical adventure has a special place in Warner Bros. history: The studio made three versions, of which this 1953 edition is the last and most lavish. MacRae is the roguish Riff leader -- and master of disguise -- El Khobar, and Grayson is the reckless French beauty Margot, eventual lovers whose final embrace is preceded by a spectacle packed with hard-riding screen action and soaring melodies.
