Product Description:

Digitally remastered and expanded edition. Originally hailing from Malmo in Sweden in 1978, Silver Mountain were very much inspired by Deep Purple, Judas Priest and the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, but especially Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, from where the band took their name. Their vinyl debut was the 'Man Of No Present Existence' b/w 'Axeman And The Virgin' single in 1979. Fundamental to the birth of classically inspired Scandinavian hard rock and heavy metal, a scene that also gave the music world Yngwie J. Malmsteen and Europe, they evolved around lead guitarist Jonas Hansson, recording the highly influential, cult debut "Shakin' Brains" in 1983, an album featuring future Yngwie members Jens and Anders Johansson. Following it up with "Universe" (1984) and "Hibaya - Live in Japan" (1985), they eventually released "Roses & Champagne" in 1988, with Jonas Hansson now joined by Johan Dahlstrom (vocals) and Kjell Gustavsson (drums). This reissue of "Roses & Champagne" includes bonus tracks recorded live on September 4th, 2010 at Friluftsteatern, Malm”, Sweden, and appear on CD for the first time. These include covers of Mk2 Deep Purple classic 'Strange Kind Of Woman' and Queen's 'The Show Must Go On'.
