Flynn and Ida Lupino, who plays the young mother, let their affection for each other shine through in their performances. The music, including a dramatic ballet sequence, is by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, one of classic Hollywood's premier composers, who had earlier provided memorable scores for Flynn's The Adventures of Robin Hood and The Sea Hawk.
