Not to be confused with the similarly-titled UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS, the BBC series ROYAL UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS actually constitutes a documentary program. It finds chef Rosemary Shrager and antiques expert Tim Wonnacott tracing the footsteps of the legendary Queen Victoria through the various castles, houses and manors that she visited during her lifetime. In the process, Wonnacott and Shrager also pull information from Victoria's diaries to provide insights into the food that she consumed, and the garden and decorative preparations undertaken for her benefit on various occasions.
