Product Description:

One of the most influential and highly regarded funk groups of the 1970s, the Average White Band was formed by an unlikely bunch of blue-eyed soulsters from Scotland. Successfully wedding pop smarts with dance-floor grooves, the band shot to fame with their 1974 sophomore effort AWB, which solidified their slinky, horn-driven arrangements and made them a 1970s radio staple. This concert film captures the Average White Band at the height of their creative and commercial success with a 1977 performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival (their one and only appearance at the prestigious fest), serving up funky live versions of classics such as "Work to Do," "A Love of Your Own," "Cut the Cake," and, of course, their signature tune and number-one single "Pick up the Pieces."
