Entertainment Reviews:
could prove to be a real side-splitter for little boys under the age of 12 or for their bigger brothers, provided they have a blood-alcohol level of .12. No doubt the screenwriters used their best crayons to scribble down this yarn...

Kalamazoo Gazette
Despite a comic performance by Harland Williams, Disney's formulaic kiddie pic ``RocketMan'' doesn't have enough of the right stuff to make it a real blast.

Hartford Courant
A slickly produced, reasonably funny family film from the company that does it best.

...ROCKETMAN is hilarious at the beginning and then matures along the way...
Box Office
...It's a wacky comedy in the Jerry Lewis-Jim Carrey mold....It's the kind of movie that gives you a goofy grin half of the time...

I was stunned by how much I laughed at Harland Williams' juvenile antics in this silly little comedy.

A so-so sophomoric space comedy.

Product Description:
The space program suffers a major setback in the form of bungling aeronautics engineer Fred Z. Randall, who, despite his conceptual smarts, can't quite hack it as an astronaut because of his clumsiness. But when the first manned mission to Mars is short a man, Fred springs into action, much to dismay of his chagrined fellow crew members, who endure Fred's interplanetary flatulence and sock puppet plays.
Description by Buena Vista Home Entertainment:
Rocketman
Blast off for outrageously funny space travel in this screwball comedy that spins wildly out of control all the way to Mars! Though he's a wiz with computers, accident-prone astro-nut Fred Randall (comedian Harland Williams -- DUMB AND DUMBER) is the last guy on Earth you'd want on the first manned mission to Mars. But as bad luck and poor timing would have it, that's exactly what happens, and Fred undergoes rigorous, if not hilarious, training at NASA. After that it's t-minus a reality check as Fred blasts off with the rest of the space shuttle crew: a cocky, no-nonsense commander, a sexy mission specialist, and a mischievous space chimp named Ulysses. From the dizzying preflight foolishness to the even loonier landing, ROCKETMAN is the out-of-this-world hit comedy that's more than go for launch ... it's go for laughs!
