Description by OLDIES.com:

Lillian Harding and Katherine Thompson, students at a prestigious finishing school, stumble upon a casino. Playing for the first time, they become hooked on the high-stakes world of gambling. Stealing from their parents to cover their losses, Lillian and Katherine find themselves in a desperate situation. Seeing an opportunity, the club's owner offers them a place in his criminal gang. With no choice, the two schoolgirls are forced to participate in a dangerous jewel heist.

Gambling Daughters was directed by Max Nosseck, a German-born director who established himself in his homeland with comedies such as Mischievous Miss (1930) and All is at Stake (1932). Due to his Jewish background, he was forced to immigrate to America where he would later craft thrillers like Dillinger (1945) and The Hoodlum (1951). Star Gale Storm, here in one of her earliest roles, would become a household name in the television era with her sitcoms My Little Margie (1952-55) and The Gale Storm Show (1956-60). Her co-star Janet Shaw made over 50 films in a 20-year career but is best remembered for her role as a haggard waitress in Alfred Hitchcock's classic Shadow of a Doubt (1943). Sig Arno, who plays the girls' French teacher, appeared in numerous German films before immigrating to the United States. After arriving in America, he landed parts in horror films such as The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939) and The Mummy's Hand (1940) and played the eccentric European 'Toto' in The Palm Beach Story (1942).
