Description by OLDIES.com:
The Turbans, one of Philadelphia's premier groups, formed in 1953. From Downtown Philly (around Bainbridge and South Street), they were kids who hung out together and had gone to the same schools. Their hit, "When You Dance" hit #3 on the R&B charts in 1955, and stayed on the Pop charts for about five months. This audio CD features eighteen tracks they recorded for Al Silver's Herald Records during the mid to late 1950s. All tracks have been digitally remastered from the original tapes, and the release includes two separate takes of "Farewell to Arms" and an outtake of "Bye and Bye."
