Description by OLDIES.com:

Retired attorney Wilfred Amory purchases a "mystery house," where he believes his late father has hidden a fortune. An elegant lady in grey, Ruth Hope introduces herself and claims to have possession of a secret code, one of two, that reveals the location of the treasure. A scoundrel, J. Havilland Hunter holds the second code, and has hired gangsters to abduct Ruth and extract her half. Tom Thurston, Amory's secretary and trusted confidant must rescue Ruth from the jaws of death throughout 15 thrilling episodes.

Thrills and death-defying stunts abound in this extremely rare early classic cliffhanger.

A Woman In Grey was photographed in and around Wilkes Barre and the photography offers a fascinating picture of the architecture and lush landscapes of Pennsylvania at the turn of the century. Arline Pretty was an experienced stage actress when she made her debut in films in 1913's Love's Justice. She found her greatest success in starring as a heroine in serials for Pathe and Vitagraph. Her career faded with the coming of sound, but having invested her money wisely, was able to work when she wanted to, and appeared uncredited in numerous features up until the mid 1950s.

Lovely Locations Movie Lover: from BRISBANE, QUEENSLAND AU -- July, 27, 2014

The only film produced by Serico Productions
which was based in Pennsylvania, it really
took advantage of the spacious streets and
boulevards, as well as being able to use some
of the most beautiful homes in Wilkes-Barre.
Very action packed, each episode is only
around 13 minutes in length and each has the
obligatory cliff hanger ending.
The story concerns the history of an old house
- the owner was murdered and the maid, on
the witness stand, blamed the mistreated
daughter who went to prison.
Arline Pretty (her real name) plays a mystery
woman who has written a book about the
history of the house but is very involved in
trying to find a code that will pave the way
to find the family wealth. And just what does
that fancy glove, which she never removes,
mean?
The ending, for 1919, is very way out and
concerns personality transplants etc , it
definitely makes for an exciting serial!!
