Rating: 1/4 -- Tekken is, at least, the ultimate proof that copying the aesthetics of the videogame for a live action movie doesn't always work. [Full review in Spanish] Full Review

It's not that McElroy hasn't crafted an interesting-enough storyline (in some respects, it's quite an OK plot) but more that he doesn't know how to engage his audience Full Review

Rating: D+ -- It does make a plucky attempt to replicate the flippy-floppy nature of the fighting elements, creating a limb-snapping effort of escapism surrounded by bland writing and sleepy performances. Full Review

Rating: 1/5 -- The fight-sequences -- dreamlike and almost-spiritual in the original game -- are relegated to UFC-style octagons, shot like shaky-cam snuff and soundtracked by Insane Clown Posse-wannabees. It'd be headache inducing if it weren't so damn boring. Full Review

If fodder like "Best of the Best" is your bag, give this a shot, it's not the worst game movie ever made... Full Review

Product Description:

The long-running Namco video game series makes the leap to the big screen with this tale of a young warrior who enters a highly exclusive fight tournament in order to avenge his mother's death. The year is 2039: the World Wars have left the Earth a desolate graveyard. From the ashes of governments have risen powerful corporations, and the most formidable of them all is Tekken. Presided over by a ruling elite whose sole purpose is to lull the masses into submission, Tekken stages a massive sporting event called the Fist Tournament, in which post-apocalyptic gladiators fight to the death for wealth and celebrity. Jin Kazama is one such combatant, but Jin isn't fighting for fame or money. His mother was killed by malevolent Tekken chairman Heihachi Mishima, and the only way Jin can get close enough to Mishima to kill him is by battling his way to the championship round. In order to get there, Jin trains under Lucas, a former Fist champion who knows what it takes to rise through the ranks. But with each new victory Jin uncovers another secret about his own dark past, and learns the apocalyptic truth about the vicious tournament that could bring about the downfall of humanity.
