Description by OLDIES.com:
Bitter newspaper reporter Scoop McGuire is down on his luck. He's been fired from his job editing the city desk and every woman he's ever loved has left him in the gutter. He runs into Anne, a gorgeous widow on the lam for allegedly murdering her husband. Believing her innocent, he hides her in his Manhattan apartment. While he searches for evidence to clear her, he turns up a scoop big enough to get him hired back.
Orphaned as a child, Wallace Ford grew up in England and emigrated to the United States as a teen. After working in regional theater, he performed on Broadway before beginning his film career. Ford appeared in dozens of movies, including the cult classic Freaks (1932) and Hitchcock's Spellbound (1945) and numerous films co-starring Bela Lugosi. Fuzzy Knight appeared in numerous westerns, including The Trail of the Lonesome Pine (1936) and The Cowboy and the Lady (1938), but is best remembered for his TV role in Captain Gallant Of The Foreign Legion (1955). Bradley Page specialized in playing memorable criminals and crooks during the 1930s and 1940s in films such as The Nut Farm (1935) and The Traitor Within (1942).
