From 1952-'56, Hollywood luminaries Charles Boyer, Ida Lupino, David Niven and Dick Powell joined forces in Four Star Playhouse (also known as Star Performance), an anthology series in which each actor took the lead role on a rotating basis. The series, which ran on CBS, earned 14 Emmy nominations during its run, including one in 1954 as Best Dramatic Series.
The Bad Streak (1954): A gambler's long-lost son returns home full of bitterness, determined to drive his father's casino into bankruptcy. Starring Charles Boyer, Virginia Grey; Directed by Robert Aldrich.
The Lost Silk Hat (1952): A gentleman vainly tries to hire a passing stranger to help him out of a very awkward romantic situation. Starring Ronald Colman; Directed by Robert Florey.
Where You Loved Me (1955): An unemployed actor abandons his young wife and runs off to find work with a circus. Starring MacDonald Carey; Directed by Roy Kellino.
Yesterday's Pawnshop (1955): A ring in a antique shop leads a widower to believe that his late wife may still be alive. Starring Don Taylor; Directed by Harry Keller.
