Rating: 3/4 -- The Big Bus can be hit-or-miss in its humor. But the hits are fairly big and the misses are comparatively small. Full Review

Rating: 3.5/5 -- The Big Bus [is] a consistently clever comedy that had the misfortune of being a couple of years ahead of its time. Full Review

I'd like to pretend it's a better movie than it is... its failings aren't gross and its modest pleasures are so far superior to the general run this slummy summer season that I feel very kindly toward it. Full Review

Rating: B -- Before there was "Airplane," there was "The Big Bus." The granddaddy of the disaster spoof movies came out in 1976, and despite its unevenness, it's quite the hoot. Full Review

Description by OLDIES.com:

A spoof of disaster films, The Big Bus is about the world's first nuclear-powered bus -- a 75-ton monster on 32 enormous wheels -- and its maiden journey from New York to Denver. Jockeying the bus is the world's greatest bus driver. His co-pilot is given to sudden blackouts and has a penchant for driving on the shoulders of the road. A pair of evil-doers vow to destroy the bus at the outset, thus providing hilarious suspense.
