Once again, I found myself ordering a few titles from oldies. This a film which is, to my knowledge, not released in Europe (I live in Holland) so this one (and many others) are hard to come by.
So glad I can order these here.
It's a region free blu ray disc. The picture is very clear, although it's an old screen format. It's, of course not the same picture quality of a movie that's been made today, but that doesn't matter I think. People who love these movies are happy enough when the picture quality is very good - near perfect for us, so to speak - whereas other people may find this irritating (like people who like colour movies and NO B&W).
The movie itself is a charming, 1940's Christmas themed movie.
With a lot of ingredients that you will find in movies from that era, Christmas in Connecticut also has a few misunderstandings, a romance almost goes wrong, mistaken identities and in the end... a happy end!
I personally love these older 40's and 50's Christmas movies. They have a feel to it that movies today don't have. They may try, but the times have changed so much and the way people are with other people today is very much different than in those days.
For some reason, this movie is not so well known here, as is It's A Wonderful Life, White Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street are known movies here.
If you love these movies you will enjoy this one!
