If her story, however, is even vaguely familiar (made nude flick, was brainy, did inventions, made glamour flicks, stayed brainy, had lots of plastic surgery, died) then this will be a very ho-hum trawl.

A fascinating documentary about Hedy Lamarr, an extraordinary woman who was so much more than the moviegoing public ever imagined.

[T]his documentary traces the arcs of Lamarr’s personal and professional lives, which by turns harmoniously converged and wildly veered in opposite directions. Whatever happened, it was rarely dull.

Product Description:
This profile of 1940s movie star Hedy Lamarr sheds light on a mostly forgotten aspect of her life: her work as a trailblazing inventor. Lamarr developed an advanced communication system for the U.S. Navy in order to help defeat the Nazis; decades later, her innovations are still being used in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Directed by Alexandra Dean.
